Breville BOV670BSS cooks well, bakes well and toasts well. It has 8 cooking functions: Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Broil, Pizza, Cookies and Reheat. It also has convection mode which is something a lot of countertop ovens don’t have.

Heating is consistent. Breville BOV670BSS doesn’t heat up your kitchen like regular full-sized oven does. Toasts bread evenly on both sides however takes too long to finish the job so you will be better off with a regular toaster for this task.

It does cook quite well though especially considering it’s not one of the high-end units. Sure, the high-end units do perform better but they also can cost 2-5 times more. The less expensive models can sometimes deliver disappointing results but this is not the case with Breville BOV670BSS.

Control Panel

Control panel is intuitive and simple to use. It features 4 buttons (Start/Cancel, Convection, Frozen and °F/°C) and two dial knobs (Cooking mode and Temp/Time/Darkness/Slices).

Accessories

Breville BOV670BSS smart toaster oven comes with 10″x10″ (inches) enamel baking pan and 10″x10″ (inches) enamel broiling rack.

Other Features

Breville BOV670BSS smart toaster oven is equipped with Element iQ® System that moves the power around the oven for more precise temperature distribution and improved results. Walls inside the oven have non-stick coating which makes it easier to clean. Housing is made of brushed stainless steel.

Top and sides get very hot. You have to be careful not to touch them during or after cooking as they can be hot enough to cause burns.

This is however the case for pretty much all countertop ovens other than super expensive ones because it’s very expensive to make and difficult to design such an insulation where very little amount of heat gets soaked up by the housing.

Another thing to mention is that this model doesn’t have interior light so if you want to check your food to see how done it’s it’s hard to do it without opening the door (and letting some of the heat escape). This model also doesn’t have slide-out shelf feature that more expensive units do.

Verdict

Overall Breville BOV670BSS is one of the top choices when it comes to affordable countertop ovens. It’s not as good as more expensive models like Breville BOV845BSS, Ninja DT251 Foodi or June Smart Oven but if you need something that’s fairly affordable yet performs well and is versatile then Breville BOV670BSS is one of the models you should consider!
