BOSSIN HZB-12/B is portable countertop ice maker that can produce up to 26 pounds of ice cubes in 24 hours.

Ice making

BOSSIN HZB-12/B ice machine makes 9 ice cubes per batch and each batch takes 6-11 minutes to produce depending on multiple factors: ice cube size, air temperature, water temperature etc.

Ice quality is pretty good. They do a good job of cooling your drink and once they melt a bit they become really chewable (either when left in drink for a few minutes or in ice basket as it isn’t refrigerated).

It can make ice cubes in two sizes: small and large. Large size isn’t really that large, more like medium sized.

A batch of large ice cubes is about enough to fill medium sized glass so it probably won’t be able to upkeep with the demand if you are throwing a party (unless you make loads of ice ahead of it) but should produce enough for a family.

Since ice basket isn’t refrigerated ice cubes will eventually start to melt if left inside. The melted water will go back into water reservoir as it’s located just below ice basket. Since ice cubes melt inside the ice basket they are very likely to freeze into solid block if you put them in freezer for later use however they are easy to break apart – you can use the included ice scoop do to it.

Quality

The unit does feel cheap as the housing is made of plastic (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene thermoplastic polymer). Ice makes does the job though so it might not be a big deal for you.

Control panel

Control panel is very basic, intuitive and easy to use. There are only two buttons: for turning the unit on/off and selecting ice cube size.

Other than that it also features 5 indicator lights – to warn you if water reservoir is empty, if ice basket is full, if unit is turned and which ice size setting you have chosen (each size setting has separate indicator light).

BOSSIN HZB-12/B has indicator lights to warn you if you need to add more water in water reservoir of if ice basket is full and you should empty it.

Water reservoir capacity is 2.2 liters or about 74 oz whereas about 1.54 pounds of ice cube will be able to fit in ice basket before you have to empty it.

BOSSIN HZB-12/B is portable countertop ice maker is light and very compact. It weighs just 17.2 pounds and measures 8.7 inches wide, 12.3 inches deep and 12.6 inches high.

Conclusions
