Best Recliner Chairs (Review)

Are you looking for recliner chair? I have done research to help you choose the best recliner chair out of 10 different models. Find out which recliner chairs you should consider to purchase and which ones to avoid!:

#1 Homall Recliner Chair

Homall recliner chair can hold up to 265 lbs according to manufacturer. It feels like it can handle more but it’s not advisable to go against manufacturers guidelines. It’s upholstered with PU leather and padded with high-density sponge. Frame is made of steel.

It’s smallish in size so if you are around 6 feet tall or taller then you won’t be able to rest your head properly. Armrests are a bit too thin too. Despite that Homall recliner chair is surprisingly comfortable considering its price. Seating is on firmer side but not in a uncomfortable way. Reclining mechanism works well.

Obviously this isn’t a heavy duty item but for the price it seems to be well made. Construction feels solid. There are some complaints from consumers about the chair breaking after 4-6 months of use so it might not be as sturdy as it feels initially, but that’s not the case for most.

Overall for the price it’s a good reclining chair. No one will mistake it for being an expensive piece, but if you are looking for a cheap recliner then this is a good choice. It’s not the best recliner out there, it’s actually far from it but considering its low price it offers amazing value for money which is why it’s ranked #1.

#2 Signature Design by Ashley Yandel Power Lift Recliner

Signature Design by Ashley Yandel recliner is well made and very sturdy, material quality is good too! It’s upholstered in faux leather which looks great and feels very nice.

Recliner is very comfortable. It’s well padded and soft yet supportive. Seat is also pretty wide compared to other recliners. It’s not perfect however – lumbar support could be better and footrest could go a bit higher. Those that are over 6 feet tall might also find recliner to be a bit too small but still comfortable.

It reclines fully and lifts almost to a standing position. Motor for lifting and reclining is very quiet however it’s also a bit slow.

Overall this is a great recliner. In fact it’s the best one in this list however it’s more expensive than some might want to spend so you might argue that it doesn’t offer the best value for money. It still performs well in this department as quality for the price is good!

  • Seat height: 20″

#3 Esright Massage Recliner Chair

Esright massage recliner chair can hold up to 300 lbs. It’s upholstered in PU leather (artificial leather made with split leather and polyurethane coating) and padded with extra thick sponge. Frame is made of CARB certified particle board and iron.

Material quality is good and assembled unit feels sturdy. Assembly is simple and takes around 5-10 minutes to complete.

Recliner chair is pretty comfortable to sit on and recline. In person chair is smaller than it appears in pictures but it’s not too small to be uncomfortable. That being said seating is a bit narrow and if you are over 6 feet tall then you might find headrest to be too short.

Recliner mechanism works well and reclines pretty far. Swivels and rocks well too. Massage function hardly deserves to be called that way, all it does is vibrate. It has 5 massaging modes with 2 vibration intensities. It features total of 8 vibrating nodes in back, lumbar, thigh and leg sections. It also has heat function for lumbar area. Massage and heat features are controlled with a remote control.

#5 Flash Furniture Recliner Chair with Ottoman

Flash Furniture recliner chair and ottoman are upholstered in faux leather.

Chair is on firm side but reasonably comfortable. It sits very low to the ground so might be difficult for some to get out of.

Flash Furniture recliner chair reclines and swivels. Swivel is on plastic slide rail and feels fragile, it’s likely it won’t last long.

Assembly is simple and takes around 15-20 minutes to complete.

Details:

  • Recliner dimensions: 33″ x 44.5″ x 41.25″ (Width x Depth x Height)
  • Ottoman dimensions: 19.75″ x 18″ x 16.25″

#6 Monarch Specialties Recliner Chair

Monarch Specialties recliner chair is upholstered in soft synthetic leather.

Overall comfort is good but not great. Chair is compact in size but not so compact you feel constricted.

Monarch Specialties recliner chair reclines from 70 to 30 degrees It has metal base that swivels in 360 degrees. It also glides. Footrest is hard to close once opened.

Overall quality can be described as average. Not a super sturdy or well made unit but it’s good enough.

Details:

  • Recliner dimensions: 31″ x 30″ x 41″ (Width x Length x Height)
  • Chair weight: 44 lbs

#7 Christopher Knight Home Elizabeth Recliner

Christopher Knight Home recliner chair is upholstered in a very nice polyester fabric. It features tufted diamond design. Legs are made of birch wood.

It’s not super comfortable because seating is firm but neither is it uncomfortable. Comfort wise it’s just “ok”.

It’s not that sturdy. Some consumers have complained about wood frames breaking after less than 1 year of use.

Assembly is very simple and takes couple minutes to complete.

Details:

  • Recliner dimensions: 35″ x 29.5″ x 40.50″ (Width x Depth x Height)

#8 Best Choice Products Faux Leather Electric Massage Recliner

Best Choice Products electric massage recliner has faux leather upholstery. Frame is made from metal. It can hold up to 250 lbs.

Cushions are soft at first but they don’t age that well. After not much of use you will notice them flattening and becoming harder. So although chair feels slightly comfortable at first after a few weeks/months of use it might become uncomfortable to you.

Chair reclines pretty far back and swivel function works well.

It has massage and heat features too that are controlled with a remote control. Don’t expect to be impressed by massage function because it’s nothing more than basic vibration. It features 5 pre-programmed massages (than don’t differ much from each other) and 9 intensity levels.

Assembling it is simple and takes less than 10 minutes.

Details:

  • Chair weight capacity: 250 lbs
  • Ottoman weight capacity: 200 lbs
  • Chair dimensions: 27″- 46″ x 29″ x 41″ (Length x Width x Height)

  • Total weight: 45 lbs

#9 JUMMICO Fabric Recliner Chair

JUMMICO Fabric recliner chair can hold up to 265 lbs. It has fabric upholstery. Feet are made of plastic. Frame is made of metal and also what seems like plywood.

Armrest is a bit too short and so is headrest. If you are around 6 feet tall or taller you won’t find this recliner chair good for sleeping. Despite some flaws overall it’s quite comfortable to sit on. Recliner can be adjusted from 90° to 165° angle.

It’s cheap so you can’t expect amazing quality. Plywood construction feels fragile and some consumers have had issues with it breaking albeit they are a minority. JUMMICO recliner certainly isn’t something you would call sturdy so it’s hard to predict how long it will last (probably not that long).

Very easy to assemble, whole process shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to complete. Assembled unit is lightweight and easy to move around

Details:

  • Weight capacity: 265 lbs
  • Seat height: 17.7″
  • Seat dimensions:19.8″ x 20.5″ (Width x Depth)
  • Back dimensions: 20.9″ x 29.1″ (Width x Height)

#10 Dorel Living Slim Recliner

Dorel Living Slim recliner is upholstered in soft beige microfiber fabric

Dorel Living Slim recliner is pretty soft and well padded. Chair however is small, unless you are short your feet will overhang footrest in reclined position. Seat is narrow too so you might feel snug especially if you are of wider body type. Overall comfort is decent but not great.

Recliner mechanism is a bit hard to operate.

Chair is easy to assemble, the whole process takes around 15 minutes to complete. It’s not the sturdiest unit so it’s lifetime is questionable.

Details:

  • Recliner dimensions: 31″ x 31″ x 38″ (Width x Length x Height)
  • Seat height: 17.25″
  • Seat width: 15″
