Best Pellet Grills (Review)

If you love to barbecue then you seriously need a pellet grill. Pellets give a phenomenal flavor to everything you cook and because pellet grills monitor and maintain cooking temperature themselves they are pretty much failproof.

I have done extensive research to help you choose the best pellet grill out of 20 different models. Find out which pellet grills you should consider and which ones to avoid!

#1 Traeger TFB88PZBO Pro Series 34 Pellet Grill

Traeger TFB88PZBO Pro Series 34 pellet grill has insane 884 square inches of cooking capacity – the amount of meat that can be cooked simultaneously is crazy (like 7 racks of ribs or 20+ pounds of meat), but the best part is that food cooked with this pellet grill turns out amazingly good, it tastes simply wonderful! Gives meat great smoke flavor when you want to and is very easy to use.

Traeger Pro Series 34 pellet grill works in range from 150 to 450-500 °F (max. temperature depends on environment temperature) and takes about 5 minutes to heat up. Temperature inside the grill stays pretty stable – there is some fluctuation sometimes but it’s minor (no more than 15 °F from what you set, most of the time it stays within 5 °F). It holds 18 lbs of pellets which will last for 10-18 hours.

It has two built in temperature probes, digital readout, hopper clean-out and treaded wheels with locking casters. Yes, Traeger TFB88PZBO doesn’t have some of the fancy features like WiFi control which you might expect at this pricing, but the smoker works very well. Might struggle a bit to operate in colder environment (winter), Traeger sells insulated cover blanket for this model and that will fix the problem but the blanket isn’t exactly cheap.

Build quality is good. Assembly is super easy too and the whole assembly process is really well thought out.

Overall Traeger TFB88PZBO is a great pellet grill, it works very well and the value for money is good too!

#2 Memphis Grills Elite Wood Fire Pellet Grill (VGB0002S)

If you are looking for the best pellet grill then this is it – Memphis Grills Elite Wood Fire. Everything about this pellet grill is of finest quality. But the best come at a price, quite literally – it’s the most expensive pellet grill in this list and by a huge margin!

Memphis Grills Elite Wood Fire pellet grill has 862 sq. inches of cooking surface (1,274 sq. in. with optional grates) and works in temperature range from 180 °F to 700 °F. It doesn’t matter what you cook – everything comes out tender and fantastically delicious. It’s very simple to use and everything comes out perfectly cooked every time! If you want to cook over direct fire for proper sear you just switch the EZ access insert for direct flame flavorizer accessory insert, which is perforated and will let you cook perfectly seared steak or get that delicious flame roasted flavor on vegetables.

It has double sided pellet hopper so you can mix different blends of pellets for unique flavors. Cooking grids are solid stainless steel rods and beneath them is located flavorizer which is made from stainless steel too which acts as a heat deflector. The drippings that fall on the flavorizer gets vaporized and adds moisture and wonderful smoke flavor to the meat you are cooking! 4″ dual convection fans creates even heat circulation which results in proper convection cooking.

It’s double walled, sealed with oven grade gasket and made from 304 stainless steel. This insulation provides superb heat retention and temperature accuracy as well decreases the pellet consumption. Temperature fluctuations are within 5 °F of chosen setting.

Memphis Grills Elite Wood Fire pellet grill has WiFi control feature so if you download (iOS or Android) app on your phone you can monitor and control the grill with it.

Overall Memphis Grills Elite Wood Fire pellet grill is way too expensive for most, but if you are looking for the best pellet grill – this is one to get! It’s so good and reliable that it is suitable for commercial use!

#3 Camp Chef SmokePro DLX PG24B Pellet Grill

Camp Chef SmokePro DLX PG24B pellet grill operates in temperature range from 160 °F up to 500 °F. It has a cooking area of 570 sq. in. (Upper Rack: 141 sq. in.; Lower Rack: 429 sq. in.) which is less than other pellet grills at this price range, however unlike most other pellet grills this one comes with sear box which performs very well. Overall Camp Chef SmokePro DLX sears and smokes very well, food comes out really delicious.

Assembly is simple and takes around 60 minutes. Build quality is good, assembled unit is solid and sturdy.

Clean up is very simple thank to the ash cleanout system – you just pull a lever and all of the ash is dumped into a cup. Camp Chef SmokePro DLX PG24B has meat probe and dual LED temperature readout for internal cooking and internal food temperatures. It also comes with warming rack. Other features include: smart smoke technology (keeps pellet grill within 15 °F or less of the target temperature), pellet hopper cleanout/purge, grease management system, electronic auto-start ignition and simple temperature selection system.

Overall Camp Chef SmokePro DLX PG24B doesn’t offer as much cooking space as other pellet grills at this pricing, however it performs extremely well and has lots of neat features which makes it a great value for money. It’s certainly among the best choices if you are looking for a pellet grill.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 570 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-500 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 25,000

#4 Camp Chef Woodwind SG 24 Pellet Grill

Camp Chef Woodwind SG 24 pellet grill has a cooking area of 811 square inches (upper rack: 382 sq. in.; lower rack: 429 sq. in.). It works in temperature range from 160 °F to 500 °F, warms up to the chosen temperature pretty fast. Temperature control is good too – it stays within 8 °F of what you set (most of the time the fluctuation is lower than that). Any meat you smoke comes out outstanding and really delicious, the smoke flavor is amazing and performance wise this pellet grill is among the best.

Clean up is very simple – with just a pull of a rod all the ash drops into cup. You might have to vacuum the interior once in a while but overall the whole cleanup process is much simpler than with most pellet grills. You can remove the unused pellets from the hopper too if you find that necessary.

Features include smart smoke technology, pellet hopper cleanout/purge, slide and grill technology, ash cleanout system, cord management system, grease management system, large capacity hopper, electronic auto-start ignition, Dual LED temperature display (internal cooking temps and internal food temps), automatic auger dispenser, clear hopper window and even a bottle opener. Comes also with a sidekick that has 231 sq. in. cooking area and heat output of 30,000 BTU/hr.

Assembly process is simple and takes about 30 minutes.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 811 sq. in.
    • Upper rack: 382 sq. in.
    • Lower rack: lower rack: 429 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 22 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-500 °F

#5 Z Grills 700D Pellet Grill

It offers massive 700 square inches of total cooking area – 513 sq. in. of main cooking rack and 187 sq. in. of warming rack. It doesn’t produce very much smoke – it does give food that smoky flavor but some might crave more intense flavor. According to manufacturer to it works in range of 160 °F to 450 °F, but it struggles to go past 400 °F unless it’s a hot summer day so it doesn’t sear well. You aren’t gonna grill a steak in 20 minutes but it works just fine as a smoker.

Ergonomics are great and this is one of the simplest smokers to operate. Smoker feels well made, construction feels solid and sturdy – it’s made from high quality steel. Quality is certainly better than you usually get for this pricing. Under grilling area you will find storage space where you can conveniently store your pellets.

Overall Z Grills 700D offers great value for money and can compete with some $1000 pellet smokers. It’s not perfect but it works very well as a smoker.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 700 sq. in.
    • Main cooking rack area: 513 sq. in.
    • Warming rack area: 187 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 20 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-450 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 25,000
  • Weight: 140 lbs
  • Dimensions: 48″ x 22″ x 51″ (L x W x H)

#6 Camp Chef SmokePro DLX Pellet Grill

Camp Chef SmokePro DLX pellet grill has cooking area of 570 square inches. It smokes in temperature range from 150 °F to 500 °F. It also comes with sear box. Doesn’t produce as much smoke as other pellet smokers (also some of the smoke escapes, which is a common issue for camp chef pellet grills) but the meat still comes out great, it’s very tasty and has a nice smoke flavour, although the quality of smoke flavour is highly dependent on pellets you use. Steaks are just amazing with this camp chef grill smoker. It has hot spots however – mainly in the very back and front of the grilling area. Temperature swings aren’t too big – usually in the range of 10-15 °F.

Camp Chef SmokePro DLX pellet grill has features like auto-ignite, EZ hopper release, automatic auger dispenser and dual LED temperature readout (for internal cooking temperature and internal food temperature).

Assembly is pretty simple other than some of the parts being quite heavy because they are made out of heavy gauge steel. When assembled the unit feels sturdy and solid, wheels are of particularly nice quality too.

Overall this is a pretty good pellet grill.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 570 sq. in.
    • Main cooking rack area: 429 sq. in.
    • Warming rack area: 141 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-450 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 25,000
  • Weight: 140 lbs

#7 Camp Chef Woodwind Pellet Grill

Camp Chef Woodwind pellet grill has impressive 811 square inches of cooking surface area. Smoker works in range from 160 °F to 500 °F, but it also has a sear box too which reaches up to 900 °F. Therefore Camp Chef Woodwind pellet grill can be used not only for smoking purposes, but for proper grilling too! It has slide and grill technology – it has a mobile deflector plate and by simply pulling a knob you can switch between slow smoking and direct flame grilling. Doesn’t produce as much smoke flavor as some might want but the meat comes out pretty moist which is something many will appreciate. Works pretty efficiently and doesn’t use as much pellets as some of the other pellet smokers.

Other features it has include electric auto-start ignition, ash cleanout system, 2 meat probes and even built-in bottle opener, which I find a bit funny (not in a bad way or anything) and I believe that many will find it useful (not many things are better than cracking open a cold one with the boys while grilling).

By now you might be thinking that Camp Chef Woodwind is amazing pellet grill, but I’m afraid that’s not quite the case. In fact it has many drawbacks. The temperature swings can be pretty big, like up to 50 °F sometimes which will be too much for many. Overall build quality is not bad but it certainly could be better. Assembly is quite challenging due to poor instructions. A lot of smoke escapes around the lid and on low smoke setting you might experience fire going out.

When it works properly it’s a great pellet grill, but unfortunately you might experience some issues with it.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 811 sq. in.
    • Main Cooking Rack Area: 513 sq. in.
    • Warming Rack Area: 187 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 22 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-450 °F
  • Sear box temperature: up to 900 °F

#8 Camp Chef SmokePro DLX Pellet Grill (Bronze)

Camp Chef SmokePro DLX pellet grill has a total cooking area of 570 sq. in. It smokes in the range from 160 °F up to 500 °F, however temperature swings are pretty big, sometimes even up to 80 °F. Most of the time it works pretty well though. Everything comes out very tender and juicy, the smoke flavor is decent too but not as good as with some other devices. The smoker is not well insulated and quite a lot of smoke escapes, which might be the reason for smoke flavor not being that great.

Assembly is pretty simple and takes around 30 minutes.

It has ash clean out feature however it only gets the big pieces, you still have to vacuum ash out of the grill. Other features include electronic auto-start ignition, pellet hopper cleanout/purge, grease management system and dual LED temperature readout (cooking temperature and internal food temperature)

Overall Camp Chef SmokePro DLX is a decent pellet grill but it’s far from best.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 570 sq. in.
    • Main cooking rack area: 429 sq. in.
    • Warming rack area: 141 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-500 °F
  • Weight: 140 lbs

#9 Camp Chef SmokePro DLX Pellet Grill

Camp Chef SmokePro DLX pellet grill works great for slow cooking and it gives food very good smoke flavor. It has a total of 570 sq. in. of rack surface area – there are smokers that offer more but I can’t imagine this not being enough for someone. It operates in the range from 160 °F to 500 °F, works great for slow smoking but doesn’t get hot enough to be used as a proper grill. Works efficiently and doesn’t consume as much pellets as some other smokers. It doesn’t have cold or hot zones like many other pellet smokers, it keep the heat even and consistent. You might have issues keeping the smoker lit in cold weather – you can buy a thermal blanket to fix this issue if you experience it, but that means spending more money…

One really strong point of this Camp Chef pellet smoker is the variety of features it has, especially at this pricing. It has ash cleanout system – you just pull a lever and empty the ash, this makes cleaning the smoker very simple whereas with other smokers cleaning requires some serious effort! Other features include digital meat probe, meat probe port, power outage bypass, electronic auto-start ignition, dual LED temperature readout (internal cooking temps and internal food temps), automatic auger pellet dispenser

Build quality could be better – there are some slight panels gaps, however the whole construction feels solid.

Overall this smoker offers good value for money with all the features it has.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 570 sq. in.
    • Upper Rack Area: 141 sq. in.
    • Lower Rack Area: 429 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: 160-500 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 25,000
  • Weight: 140 lbs

#10 Traeger TFB42LZBC

Traeger TFB42LZBC has a total of 418 square inches of cooking area. It does a good job of smoking meat when its working, but a lot of consumers have experienced many problems with this unit. Most common complaints are that smoker stops working after few weeks/months of use and its inability to hold or even achieve proper temperature. There even is one complaint about the grill catching on fire which can be very dangerous. Despite that most of the consumer feedback is very positive and large majority are more than satisfied with their Traeger TFB42LZBC pellet smokers, but you must be aware that there is a possibility of facing previously mentioned issues.

Overall there are better smokers for similar pricing although Traeger TFB42LZBC performs pretty well when it works. Another reason to avoid it is the possible issues that few consumers have complained about (although you got to admit it – you can’t satisfy everyone).

Details:

  • Cooking area: 418 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs

#11 Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett Pellet Grill (2019 model)

Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett is a portable pellet grill. It offers 219 sq in. of cooking area and weighs 68 lbs which is considerably less than your conventional pellet smokers, but that’s because it’s portable. Works in temperature range from 150 °F to 550 °F. Puts out decent amount of smoke, food comes out with nice smokey flavour. Warms up and maintains the temperature without any problems most of the time but it might struggle a bit in cold and windy weather. It holds 9 lbs of pellets.

You can adjust or monitor the temperature of the smoker with your phone with GMG app.

Setup takes just 15 minutes.

Overall Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett pellet smoker performs well although it isn’t as good as highest rated bigger smokers but for a portable one it’s certainly very good.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 219 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 9 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-550 °F
  • Weight: 68 lbs
  • Dimensions (Height x Width x Depth):
    • With legs open: 31.75″ x 34″ x 23″
    • With legs closed: 20.5″ x 27.75″ x 17.5″

#12 Z GRILLS Wood Pellet Grill (ZPG-550B)

Z GRILLS ZPG-550B pellet grill has a total of 538 square inches of cooking area: 399 sq. in. of main rack and 139 sq. in. of warm rack. Works in temperature range of 180 °F to 450 °F. Most of the time temperature is pretty consistent however sometimes there are huge temperature swings. Food comes out delicious which is the most important thing.

Instructions are well detailed and assembly process is simple, assembling might require a bit of effort for some though because of some parts being heavy. Seems to feel made, the whole construction feels solid and sturdy, however there are some reliability complaints from consumers but majority of feedback is positive.

Overall decent pellet grill but far from best.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 538 sq. in.
    • Main rack: 399 sq. in.
    • Warm rack: 139 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 10 lbs
  • Temperature: 180-450 °F
  • Weight: 84 lbs

#13 Traeger Grills Renegade Pro Pellet Grill (TFB38TOD)

Traeger Grills Renegade Pro pellet grill has 380 square inches of cooking capacity, which is very little compared to other pellet grills especially at this pricing. However meat comes out moist and delicious, so it seems to perform well when the grill works properly.

Traeger Renegade Pro is pretty economical when it comes to pellet consumption and it produces relatively small amount of ash.

Assembly shouldn’t take more than 2 hours. Overall assembly process is simple but some of the parts are heavy which might complicate the process for some. You just have to attach the legs, cross panels, legs and smokestack – that’s about it! Pellet grill is made out of steel and has powder coat finish.

Build quality seems to be a problem – some of the units seem to perform worse than others. For example some consumers have complained about the grills inability to hold temperature or it spiking far beyond the chosen setting. Other complaints include parts breaking off or some of the features not working properly, e.g. pellets getting stuck in the hopper. Most of the consumers however are satisfied with their Traeger Renegade Pro pellet grills and it’s minority that experience previously mentioned problems.

Overall there are better options at this pricing.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 380 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Weight: 111 lbs
  • Dimensions: 27″ x 40″ x 50″ (W x D x H)

#14 Camp Chef XXL Vertical (PGVXXL) Pellet Grill

Camp Chef XXL Vertical pellet grill has crazy huge smoking space of 2400 square inches. It achieves so much of smoking space due to having a total of 7 racks (4 smoking grill grates and 3 jerky racks). Temperature range is not as wide as with most other grill though – it operated in range from 150 to 350 °F. It does hold temperature quite well – temperature swings are in range of 5-15 °F. Produces pleasant smoke flavour but not as good as some of the better smokers.

It has features like 2 temp read probes, digital temperature display, grease management system, pellet hopper purge, smart smoke technology and ash cleanout system. Hanging rack and 12 sausage hooks are included too.

Overall constructions feels sturdy although quality control might be better, some of the parts could be more refined.

Camp Chef XXL Vertical is a good pellet grill but it doesn’t perform as well as very best ones.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 2400 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-350 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 33,000
  • Weight: 145 lbs
  • Dimensions (without legs): 24″ x 36″ x 15.5″ (L x H x W)
  • Height with legs: 55″

#15 Traeger Grills Pro Series 22 (TFB57PZBO)

Traeger Grills TFB57PZBO pellet grill has 572 sq. in. of cooking area. Operates up to 450 °F, however it takes a while to get to 350 °F and it struggles to go above that. Food comes out tasting great though. Hopper capacity is 18 pounds and grill weighs 103 lbs.

It’s made out of steel and has powder coat finish. It has two meat probes to give you temperature of the meat and one probe that gives you reading of smokers internal temperature. Other features include extra grill rack, all terrain wheels, hopper cleanout and Digital Pro Controller with AGL (Advanced Grilling Logic: regulates internal grill temperature within 15 °F of chosen temperature). Comes with extra grill rack too.

Quality control might be a possible problem with this unit – despite most consumers being satisfied with this pellet smoker there is still significant number of those that are not. Most common complaint is about its inability to hold temperature, but there are also complaints about missing parts and receiving a damaged unit.

Overall this is a decent pellet grill but some of the consumer complaints are a bit concerning.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 572 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: up to 450 °F
  • Weight: 103 lbs
  • Dimensions: 49″ x 41″ x 27″ (H x W x D)

#16 Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett Pellet Grill

Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett pellet grill is small in size, it’s not a problem if you are cooking for 4-6 people but it probably will be too small for bigger parties. Heat distribution is uneven and it differs by ~50 degrees no matter where you put the heat shield. Works well enough for camping but you will want another device as your primary at home.

It has digital WiFi controller so you can control the smoker from your smartphone (iOS or Android) through application. You can also create a preset routine where the smoker will cook at specific temperature for a specific amount of time or until meat reaches specific internal temperature.
Overall this is mediocre pellet grill, it works well enough for traveling/camping but you don’t want this to be your primary one at home.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 219 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 9 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-550 °F
  • Weight: 57 lbs
  • Dimensions: 31.75″ x 34″ x 23″ (H x W x D)

#17 Traeger TFS60LZC Select Elite Pellet Grill Smoker

Traeger TFS60LZC works great as a smoker, makes every meal delicious and an enjoyable experience. meat, fish, vegetables – anything turns out very flavorful. It offers a total of 589 sq. in. cooking capacity. Doesn’t work very good as grill though – it doesn’t achieve high enough temperatures for this task. Traeger TFS60LZC can heat up to 450 degrees, which works great for smoking but isn’t sufficient for proper searing and grilling. The digital Elite control keeps the temperature within 20 °F range.

Traeger TFS60LZC pellet grill has enclosed storage space where you can store items for easy access like pellets. Another useful feature is built-in wheels for easy maneuverability but the smoker stays in stationary when needed thanks to the locking casters.

Assembly instructions are detailed and easy to understand, however assembling Traeger TFS60LZC pellet grill is a time consuming activity and will take 2-3 hours for most. Seems like quality control might be issue as some consumers have complained that their units doesn’t heat above 300-320 degrees, but unless you are on of those unlucky who get faulty unit the overall build quality seems great. Another issue that some consumers have experienced are hot and cold zones, which seems to be another quality control issue which you might possibly encounter.

Overall Traeger TFS60LZC pellet grill performs well, but it’s a bit on expensive side and according to feedback of some of the consumers it seems that some units might have some manufacturing defects due to bad quality control.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 589 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 18 lbs
  • Temperature: up to 450 °F
  • Weight: 170 lbs
  • Dimensions: 57″ x 25″ x 46″ (W x D x H)

#18 Z GRILLS ZPG-7002E (2019 Model)

Z GRILLS ZPG-7002E offers a huge 694 square inches of total rack surface and it operates in the range of 180 °F to 450 °F. Temperature stays within 20 degrees of where you set it, which is not the best indicator but isn’t all that bad either. The pellet smoker is made from stainless steel. It has locking caster wheels but it still is difficult to move because it’s heavy and most of the weight resides one the left side – the same side you have to lift up to move the smoker.

Seems like Z GRILLS might have quality control issues as consumers have similar complaints about different models. Although most who have bought Z GRILLS ZPG-7002E pellet smoker are satisfied with it, there is still a significant amount of complaints about variety of issues, the most common one being the smoker not being able to hold the temperature properly – it heats up to very high temperature rendering it essentially unusable.

Although it’s a decent pellet smoker when it works it still cannot be recommended due to frequent issues consumers experience with it.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 694 sq. in.
    • Main cooking area: 504 sq.in.
    • Warming rack cooking area: 190 sq.in.
  • Hopper capacity: 20 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-450 °F
  • Weight: 112 lbs
  • Dimensions: 48″ x 22″ x 51″ (L x W x H)

#19 Z Grills ZPG-450A (2019 Model)

Z Grills ZPG-450A pellet smoker has a total of 450 square inches of grilling area, which is less than most other pellet smokers have but its enough for smallish parties. You can set temperature in the range of 180 to 450 °F, temperature swings are within ten degrees. Cooks pretty much everything near perfect, food turns out delicious. Z Grills ZPG-450A is simple to use as it has electronic auto-start ignition, digital auto temperature Control and real time LED temperature display. Z Grills ZPG-450A pellet smoker is made from stainless steel. It has wheels on one side for easier transportation.

Assembly is a bit tricky but the instructions are easy to understand and the process takes only around 60 minutes – all the necessary tools are included too!

It seems like quality control is a pretty big issue with this model. Although minority, still a significant amount of consumers have complained about variety of issues with this unit. Most common issues are overheating, huge temperature swings (100+ degrees), actual temperature being off by a lot (up to 150 degrees), heating to very high temperatures (500+ °F) when device is set under 400 °F. If you experience any of this you should theoretically get a replacement or refund, but as you might know these processes doesn’t always go smoothly and even if they do, it still takes time. However this model has been updated throughout the time, so it’s possible that that quality control issues might be fixed by now or if they haven’t they might be in near future.

Overall Z Grills ZPG-450A seems to work pretty well despite it’s low pricing, however there is a variety of complaints from consumers and it seems that there is a relatively high chance of getting a faulty unit.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 450 sq. in.
    • Main cooking area: 324 sq.in.
    • Warming rack cooking area: 128 sq.in.
  • Hopper capacity: 15 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-450 °F
  • Weight: 104 lbs
  • Dimensions: 45″ x 28″ x 49″ (L x W x H)

#20 Pit Boss Grills 71820FB PB820FB Pellet Grill/Smoker

Pit Boss Grills 71820FB PB820FB pellet smoker has a total of 820 square inches of cooking area. It works in temperature range from 180 to 500 °F. Food comes out great, however pellet consumption is pretty big compared to other smokers.

Consumer feedback is really mixed about Pit Boss Grills pellet smoker. Some love it, but many have some serious issues with it. One thing is clear – the quality of this pellet smoker is not great. Common issue is for the smoker to stop working after few months. Individual parts are prone to breaking too. Paint job is cheap and starts to come off soon.

Pit Boss Grills 71820FB PB820FB pellet smoker has features like flame broiler (for open flame searing) and dual-in temperature control with LED readout. It’s made from steel, the main grid is iron cast and has porcelain coat.

Overall Pit Boss Grills 71820FB PB820FB pellet smoker couldn’t be recommended because of the inferior build quality and all the potential issues.

Details:

  • Cooking area: 820 sq. in.
  • Hopper capacity: 19 lbs
  • Temperature: 150-500 °F
  • BTU’s/Hour: 20,700
