Are you looking for inexpensive desk chair? I have done extensive research to help you choose the best inexpensive home office desk chair out of 11 different models. Find out which home office desk chairs you should consider to purchase and which ones to avoid!:

#1 SMUGDESK Mid Back Office Chair

SMUGDESK Mid Back office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs.

Mesh backrest allows air circulation for heat dissipation and nicely molds to the back. It’s well designed and provides great support to your back, it’s very unlikely it will cause any back pain like it’s usually the case with chairs of this price point.

Overall it’s a comfortable chair to sit on, if you want to nitpick then you could complain that the seat padding could be a bit thicker but it’s not that bad. As a work chair you spend hours sitting on everyday it works well!

It’s very lightweight yet quite sturdy. The lightness might give you a wrong assumption about lack of sturdiness at first but as you use the chair you gain confidence in it.

It offers nice adjustability – height of the seat is adjustable with pneumatic lift and backrest reclines up to ~120 degrees. Caster wheels roll smoothly. Armrests are not adjustable and seems to be designed for shorter people.

Very easy to put together, assembly shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. If you don’t like the blue color the chair is available in silver and pink colors too!

Overall this is a good office chair that offers amazing value for money!

#2 AmazonBasics Modern Adjustable Low Back Armless Ribbed Task Chair

AmazonBasics Modern Low Back chair is very comfortable and provides great back support. Faux leather padding is very nice and cozy. Seat is a bit shallow (depth wise) compared to other chairs though.

It feels well made and sturdy. Armless design lets chair easily slide under the counter.

AmazonBasics Modern Low Back chair has sturdy five-point aluminum chrome base. It has pneumatic height adjustment lever, 360 degree swivel ability and hooded caster wheels that roll smoothly.

Assembly is very simple and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

Overall this is a good chair for the money but it might not fit everyone’s needs.

#3 AmazonBasics Mid-Back Desk Office Chair

AmazonBasics Mid-Back office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 225 lbs (other sources also quote 250 & 275 lbs, however it’s always safer to assume the lower figure).

Seat cushion is pretty thick considering the pricing. You can’t say that this chair is super comfortable, but it’s reasonably comfortable meaning you can use it for hours on end without feeling significant discomfort.

Backrest is really good and provides great back support. It’s made of mesh fabric that allows air flow which in effect decreases sweating.

Armrests are short and of weird shape. They aren’t adjustable and are made from hard plastic which makes them rather uncomfortable and therefore useless.

Overall build quality is decent. Chair feels sturdy enough to last for many years.

Instructions are really good and assembly is simple. It takes around 15 minutes to assemble chair.

With pneumatic seat-height adjustment seat adjusts from 17.5 to 22.25 inches. Seat is 19 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Chair has dual-wheel casters.

Overall this is a good office chair despite the low pricing.

#4 AmazonBasics Low-Back Desk Chair

AmazonBasics Low-Back chair has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs.

It’s comfortable but it’s clearly designed for people that aren’t taller than 5’10”. If you are taller than that it doesn’t automatically mean that the chair will be unusable for you, but it won’t be as  comfortable. Cushion is nice and soft but it could be thicker (it’s 2 inches thick). Backrest is made from breathable mesh and provides decent but not great back support.

AmazonBasics Low-Back chair has pneumatic seat-height adjustment and it swivels 360 degrees.

AmazonBasics Low-Back chair is 22.5 inches deep, 21.5 inches wide and 30.5-34.5 inches high.

Assembly is super easy and takes just 5 minutes to complete.

Overall this is a pretty good chair but it has some minor flaws.

#5 Essentials ESS-3082 Executive Chair

Essentials ESS-3082 Executive chair has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs.

Padding is soft and of decent thickness, however backrest could provide more back support. Overall the chair is comfortable to sit on, certainly more comfortable than most chairs at this price point. Armrests are generously padded considering the pricing. If you find chair tilting forward too much then you can try to fix it by reversing the base of the chair.

Seat height is adjustable and backrest can recline.

Assembly is difficult and will take around 30 minutes to complete (but could take more if you are not handy with putting things together).

Overall this is a good but not quite a great chair.

#6 Essentials Leather Executive Office Chair

Essentials Leather Executive office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs.

Padding could be thicker and softer, but the chair is pretty comfortable. Back support is good. It has bonded leather surface which apparently is a mix of ~20% of real leather and ~80% fake leather. It seems to be durable and of good quality.

Seat is adjustable from 17.5 to 21.25 inches. Seat is 19.25 inched wide and 17.5 inches deep. Backrest is 19.75 inches wide and 21.25 inches high.

Overall construction feels reasonably sturdy but it certainly isn’t heavy duty. Assembly is simple and takes around 15 minutes to complete.

#7 AmazonBasics Classic Leather-Padded Mid-Back Office Chair

AmazonBasics Classic Leather-Padded Mid-Back office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 275 lbs.

This chair is certainly suited better for shorter rather than taller people. Backrest is short and if you are tall it might not provide proper back support. Padding is a bit thin too, it’s not horribly thin but as you use the chair it will become even harder over time. Comfort wise the chair is mediocre. It’s not uncomfortable to sit on but it’s certainly not particularly comfy either.

Armrests are fragile and can break, the rest of the chair feel reasonably sturdy though. Since it’s on cheaper side it’s questionable how well the faux leather will hold on, but it doesn’t feel as low quality as it’s usually the case with chairs of this pricing.

AmazonBasics Classic Mid-Back office chair has pneumatic seat-height adjustment & dual-wheel casters which roll well. Chair is 24.02 inches deep. 24.02 inches wide and 34.84 to 38.58 inches high.

#8 Furmax Office Chair

Furmax office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 265 lbs. It’s surprisingly comfortable to sit on although for larger person it could be a snug fit.

Backrest provides good support to your back. There is two plastic lumbar pieces in backrest which provides support to the side your back. Rest of the backrest is made of breathable mesh that allows air circulation on your back and prevents sweating.

Furmax office chair is surprisingly good for the pricing, however its main flaw is the durability of plastic. If you are gentle to the chair it probably won’t cause any problems, but there have been some reports from consumers about plastic parts breaking.

Furmax office chair has 360 degree swivel wheels. Height is adjustable but seat doesn’t recline. Arms aren’t padded but feel reasonably comfy. Assemble takes about 15 minutes.

#9 AmazonBasics High-Back Executive Chair

AmazonBasics High-Back Executive chair has a maximum weight capacity of 275 lbs. The fake leather is cheap and starts to peel off rather quickly. The rest of the chair feels pretty flimsy too! You shouldn’t expect this model to last for a long time. Yes, it might last for years (except the leather, it certainly won’t) if you take care of it and are lucky, but certainly don’t buy this chair with such expectation.

Comfort is mediocre – you can’t say it’s so comfortable that sitting on it is really enjoyable, but neither is it terrible uncomfortable. You can sit on it for hours just fine without experiencing any elevated discomfort, especially once the padding has been broken in.

AmazonBasics High-Back Executive chair features pneumatic seat height adjustment, 360 degree swivel and smooth rolling nylon casters. It’s ~45 inches tall, ~29 inches long and ~41 inches wide.

Overall this is a mediocre office chair.

#10 Flash Furniture High Back Office Chair

Flash Furniture High Back office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs.

Mesh is of cheap quality and starts to stretch after not much use. Fabric is also cheap, it irritates skin and after few months of use it starts to tear.

Backrest is slightly inclined which is awkward shape. It’s rather uncomfortable.

This chair features adjustable headrest, ventilated mesh back, built in lumbar support and tilt lock mechanism although the chair doesn’t fully tilt back.

Overall this is a mediocre chair and there are far better options at lower pricing.

#11 Modway Articulate Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair

Modway Articulate office chair has a maximum weight capacity of 331 lbs.

Padding seems to be ok at first but it wears down fast and the chair starts to become uncomfortable to sit after an hour. Mesh back allows airflow but it stretches with use after a while and your back ends up pressing against the plastic which is uncomfortable.

Height is adjustable but it fails to hold the seat at set height and it keeps sliding down. Chair is 37 inches tall (on lowest setting), 26.5 inches long and 26 inches wide. Seat is a bit shallow depth wise, it’s only 17 inches deep. Armrest height can be adjusted from 27.5 to 32 inches. Backrest is 22 inches high.

Chair has five dual-wheel casters that roll well.

The whole construction feels a bit fragile, especially the arm rests.

Overall this chair is of low quality and is best to be avoided.
