DHP Ivana futon is reasonably comfortable to sit on. It’s on firmer side so you probably won’t enjoy sitting on it for hours but for shorter periods of time it’s comfortable enough. It seems to be well made and should hold up well.

#4 Milemont Futon

Milemont futon has a composite board frame that can hold up to 600 lbs. It also features 6 metal legs and cushions that are made of 2.5″ memory foam padding and black faux leather upholstery. Overall construction feels solid and sturdy.

Cushions are of pretty much right firmness – they are neither too hard nor too soft. However backrest could be a bit more flush. It certainly isn’t the most comfortable futon, but for the price it’s great. Faux leather is soft and cozy however it’s also a bit slippery.

Milemont futon converts from sofa to bed effortlessly. Backrest and armrests can be adjustable in 3 different positions: flat, reclined and upright. Because of the soft upholstery armrests work great as pillows. Backrest angles might feel a bit strange for some.

Futon is simple to assemble and the whole process takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

Details:

  • Futon dimensions (when folded): 70.5” x 41.5″ x 14.6″
  • Sofa cushion width: 21.7″
  • Sofa back width: 19.9″

#5 Nirvana Futons Stanford Futon Set

Nirvana Futons Stanford futon has hardwood frame that feels very solid. Futon has 3 adjustable positions – sofa, lounger and bed. Mattress is made in USA but frame – in Indonesia.

Mattress padding is made of multi layer poly-cotton and four layers of high density foam. It is comfortable but when the futon is in folded position you can feel frame if you sleep in the middle. It’s not a big issue really as you can comfortably sleep on either side. It might also smell a bit toxic when you first unpack it but the smell goes away in couple days.

Pillows seen in pictures are not included.

Futon takes a while to assemble, you can expect to spend 2-3 hours putting this thing together.

Details:

  • Sofa position dimensions: 80″ x 32″ x 33.5″ (Width x Depth x Height)
  • Full position dimensions: 80″ x 54″ x 22.5″
  • Arm height: 22.5″

#6 Novogratz Tallulah Futon

Novogratz Tallulah futon has wood frame that feels very sturdy and can support up to 600 lbs of weight. Cushions are firm yet reasonably comfortable and supportive. You won’t call this couch super comfortable, but it’s good enough. Cushions do flatten out with use though so comfort will decrease too. According to manufacturer cushions have “memory foam” padding however it doesn’t feel like memory foam at all. They are upholstered in velvet that’s soft and feels nice to touch. Backrests are foldable.

Assembly is simple and shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to complete. Assembled unit is very elegant and gorgeous in person.

Details:

  • Futon dimensions: 83″ x 33. 5″ x 32. 5″ (Length x Width x Height)
  • Sleeping dimensions: 73″ x 44″ x 17. 5″

#7 Michael Anthony Furniture Monterey Full Size Futon

Michael Anthony Furniture Monterey futon has wood frame with light honey oak finish. Cushion padding is made of premium foam and innerspring coil core with soft cotton batting with suede polyester upholstery. Mattress is firm but it’s reasonably comfortable. Futon can be converted to full size bed but it’s too firm to sleep on regularly. For sitting purposes it’s just fine.

Overall quality and craftsmanship isn’t bad but you would expect more for the pricing. It’s not heavy duty so it’s hard to predict how long the futon will last.

Assembly is time consuming and will take 2-3 hours to complete and is a bit difficult.

Details:

  • Frame Dimensions: 80″ x 37″ x 33″ (Length x Depth x Height)
  • Mattress Dimensions: 75″ x 54″ x 8″

#8 Mainstay Memory Foam Futon

Mainstay futon has wood frame that can hold up to 600 lbs. It also features metal legs and faux leather.

Comfort wise it’s ok. It’s not super comfortable but neither is it uncomfortable. Padding could be thicker but cushions maintain composure under weight very well. Seams can cause slight discomfort if you lay on them in certain ways. Sweat makes the faux leather sticky which can cause major discomfort for some.

Futon collapses into bed in seconds. On the sides you will find adjustable arm rests which can also lay completely flat.

Futon is a bit small in size too, if you lay down on it and are over 5’10” your feet will overhang the edge of futon.

It’s easy to assemble and it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. Construction feels solid, futon isn’t wobbly or anything like that.

Details:

  • Futon dimensions: 72″ x 42.5″ x 16.5″ (Width x Depth x Height)

#9 Novogratz Futon

Novogratz futon is designed to hold up to 400 lbs of weight. It features storage pockets on the sides.

The seat cushion is comfortable however the backrest cushions are too thin since you can feel the metal rail pressing against your back.

Assembly takes around 15 minutes to complete.

#10 Kodiak Furniture Futon Set

Kodiak Furniture futon set includes metal powder coated frame (with wood slats), mattress and two pillows.

Cushions are not as thick and fat as they appear in images. Mattress is filled with 80% blended cotton and 20% polyurethane foam. Manufacturer says that it may take a few days for the mattress to decompress completely and that it should be 5-6 inches thick when it does but in reality it’s half as thick of that. In result the futon isn’t very comfortable. You can feel the frame through cushions when you sit on the futon. It’s not terribly uncomfortable, but you won’t call it comfortable either.

Backrest is held by just two bolts so it’s questionable how well they will hold up. Frame on the other hand feels pretty sturdy.

Assembly takes 20-30 minutes to complete and is fairly simple.

Details:

  • Sit dimensions: 66″ x 33″ x 31″
  • Lounge dimensions: 72″ x 33″ x 31″
