Asani cargo bag offers 15 cubic feet (425 liters) of storage space with maximum weight limit of 99 lbs. It’s made of triple layer waterproof tarpaulin that in theory should be resistant to water, dust, heat etc., but is it in reality?

Yes it’s! Surprisingly the bag actually is waterproof despite being considerably less expensive than other bags. It has double wall construction – the middle is layer is made of PVC for weatherproofness and outer layers are made of high density mesh cloth for strength and durability. Bag has welded seams and zippers have velcro flap over them increasing waterproofness.

It also seems to be pretty durable as it doesn’t show any signs of wear after few thousand miles of use, some of them in rather harsh conditions (strong wind & rain). Straps and buckles are sturdy. The bag stays put.

The overall quality of the bag isn’t as good as some of more expensive models (perhaps that’s why the weight limit is lower than them) but it’s surprisingly good considering the price of this one.

Noise

Asani does cause a little bit of noise as it increases drag coefficient but it’s not very loud as straps aren’t flapping.

Conclusions

It’s maybe not quite as good as more expensive cargo bags but it offers amazing value for money – it’s inexpensive, waterproof and seems to be pretty durable.
