Ariete 3017 Conical Burr Electric Coffee Grinder Review

Ariete 3017 is conical burr electric coffee grinder with 15 grinding settings. It’s pretty inexpensive for a burr grinder so does it perform well?

Grinding

Ariete conical burr coffee grinder grinds in medium to fine range. Coarsest settings are not coarse enough for French Press or Cold brew. Works great for pour over, drip or pressurized espresso. Doesn’t grind fine enough for non-pressurized portafilter though.

Grinds are pretty uniform. They won’t be perfect at this price point but Ariete 3017 performs well considering price. There’s is a bit of retention though, not much, but a bit of beans are wasted. This is almost always the case with inexpensive burr grinders though.

Burr grinders are typically loud but Ariete 3017 is quieter than most. It’s also rather simple to clean with removable parts.

Beans hopper and grounds container

Both bean hopper and grounds container are made of plastic so unsurprisingly there’s is some static cling but not a lot of it. Bean hopper can hold up to 13.33 oz (378 grams) of coffee beans whereas grounds container up to 6.5 oz (194 grams) of grounds coffee.

Ariete conical burr coffee grinder is equipped with 2 dials – one on the right side for coarseness adjustment and another one on the front for grind time adjustment with built-in ”Start/Stop” button in the middle.

Conclusions

If you are looking for inexpensive burr grinder for pour over, drip or pressurized espresso then Ariete 3017 conical burr coffee grinder is a great option for the money. It should be however avoided for French Press, cold brew or non-pressurized portafilter espresso.
