Amazon Basics F-738BC electric kettle has same capacity and power supply as most other similarly priced kettles so even though it does heat up water fast it’s not much different than most in this regard.

It seems to have single-wall construction so the housing does get hot so don’t touch it if you have recently boiled water (the handle stays safe-to-touch at all times).

How to clean

To clean this electric kettle fill it with 5 to 15% vinegar solution up to the max. capacity (1.7 liters) but don’t go over the line. Then turn on the kettle and let the vinegar solution to achieve boiling point. After the kettle turns off let the solution sit for 15 minutes to eliminate limescale. After 15 minutes have passed pour the solution out and rinse the pot with clean water.

Possible issues

Some consumers have had problems with water leakage. It’s hard to estimate how common such issue is but keep in mind that majority of consumer feedback about this kettle is positive.

Even though Amazon Basics F-738BC works just fine but some of the models from other manufacturers like COSORI CDK-SE151-KUS, COSORI CO171-GK, Brightown or COMFEE’ seem to offers slightly better value for money.
