AICOOK CG9400D-UL Electric Conical Burr Grinder Review

AICOOK CG9400D-UL is a new addition to budget priced electric conical burr grinders. Being a new model recently released is it better than other similarly priced models?

Grinding

AICOOK CG9400D-UL is equipped with stainless steel conical burr grinds pretty well for money. Even though you can’t expect perfect consistency at this price point it’s still pretty decent.

It has a total of 40 grind settings from coarse to fine. To be honest the finest setting isn’t perfect for espresso or Turkish coffee but it might just work if you use pressurized portafilter. It’s not great for coarse grinds (think French coffee) too. What it’s best at is medium grinds like pour over or drip.

On the upside it’s quieter than most other burr grinders (but still somewhat loud).

Bean hopper and grounds bin

The capacity of bean hopper is 240 grams whereas grinds bin 130 grams.

Controls

AICOOK CG9400D-UL has 2 dials – one for adjusting grind coarseness (lower settings being finer) and the other one for selecting time to grind (0 to 50 seconds). Once you have selected your desired settings press ‘’START/STOP” button to start grinding.

Other burr grinders usually allow you to select amount of cups to be grinded which is more intuitive than selecting how long to grind.

Messiness

AICOOK CG9400D-UL grinder is pretty messy. Every time you remove grounds container some of the grounds coffee will spill on countertop.

Conclusions

Overall is a mediocre burr grinder. The biggest caveat is how messy it’s. Even though it’s not exactly a bad unit for money there are far superior alternatives available if you are willing to spend just a bit more.
