AICOK Portable Ice Maker Review

AICOK is a budget priced portable ice maker that makes a batch of 9 bullet shaped ice cubes every 6 minutes (sometimes it can take up to 10 though). It’s capable of producing 26 lbs of ice in 24 hours. Ice cube quality is good – they are pretty dense but come out a bit wet. It’s relatively quiet compared to other ice makers.

AICOK portable ice maker can make ice cubes of 3 different sizes: small, medium and large. Size difference is distinct which often is not the case with other ice machines at this pricing. With some of the other ice makers the ice cube size option is just a gimmicky feature with actual difference in size barely noticeable or not even at all.

AICOK portable ice maker features easy to navigate interface with LCD display. LCD display will indicate when the tray is full of ice cubes and when water reservoir requires more water. You can set timer and it will automatically detect when the tray is full of ice and stop making more. It has self-clean function which makes it easy to clean – just add water and vinegar and press necessary buttons.

Water reservoir capacity is 0.575 gallons which is pretty average however ice basket capacity is 1.8 lbs of ice which is more than most ice makers at this price range. It even comes with a BPA-free ice scoop!

Housing of the AICOK ice maker is made of stainless steel which looks sleek and elegant. It’s also insulated with thick foam layer to slow down the melting process of already made ice cubes and improve energy efficiency. However once in the tray the ice cubes do melt slowly, so it’s best to use them or put in refrigerator soon after they have been made. All of the components that can touch water/ice are made of food grade materials. AICOK ice machine uses copper aluminum fin condenser and 0.1 lb R134a refrigerant. Dimensions of AICOK portable ice maker are 14.2 x 9.8 x 12.9 inches.

AICOK ice machine is ETL approved meaning it has been tested and meets all applicable standards for safety published by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories. Fun fact: ETL (short for Electrical Testing Laboratories) was founded by the infamous American inventor and businessman Thomas Edison back in 1896.

Overall AICOK is a decent ice maker for the price. It’s not a high-end machine so don’t expect it to be perfect, but it does perform in all areas reasonably well. Still, Vremi Countertop Ice Maker and NewAir AI-215SS 50-lb. Portable Ice Machine that retails for similar pricing are probably a better choice. If you love nugget ice and are willing to spend a lot more then FirstBuild Opal Nugget Ice Maker might be for you – although it’s expensive it’s amazing ice maker and totally worth the price tag.
